General information for patients

*** Please bring your Alberta Health Care Card to each visit ***

Wait Times

Our physicians do their utmost to stay on schedule, while remaining attentive to the needs of each patient. If your physician is running late, be assured your doctor will spend the amount of time with you that is needed. If your doctor is running late, we apologise for delays caused by patients with unexpected, complex or multiple problems. When booking an appointment, it can be difficult to anticipate which patients will require additional time.

Mobile Devices

Please refrain from using any mobile devices during consultation as it is a distraction to both patient and the doctor.

Audio/Video Recording

Audio/Video recording is strictly prohibited without prior consent with the doctor.

Update Your Personal Information

Please advise our clinical staff of any changes related to your contact information including your phone number, address, email address and emergency contact information.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is an important component of privacy legislation and a cornerstone of a medical professional’s fiduciary obligations. Patients share some of their most sensitive personal information with their physicians and we physicians, in turn, have an obligation to ensure the information entrusted to us is kept secure and confidential.

Prescription Refills

Medications are prescribed with the utmost care and attention. As such, our physicians believe it’s important to monitor prescribed medications for interactions and contraindications (when a particular drug could interfere with other drugs or symptoms), side effects, and whether the prescribed drug is still beneficial.

For these reasons, we do not provide prescription refills by telephone. If you are running low on a prescription, check with your pharmacist to see if a limited supply is available until you see a physician for your refill. We thank you for your cooperation.

No-Shows

On occasion, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can cause you to miss an appointment. However, if a patient does not show up for a scheduled appointment and does not provide at least 24-hours advanced notice, the patient will be charged the full price of the visit. This policy is in place out of respect for the physician’s time lost, and to other patients who were not able to make use of the physician’s time.
